Faq

What is a zine?
A zine is defined as an anthology of creative content, collected in a single book and centered around a given theme. This zine welcomes page artists, writers, merch artists, spot artists, and other creatives to celebrate the lives and loves of knights.

Who can contribute?
We ask that contributors are aged 18 or older before joining this zine.

How many contributors will be accepted?
While final numbers may vary based on our interest check, we aim to invite between 10-15 page artists, 3-5 writers, 3-5 spot artists, and 3-5 merch artists.

How do I apply?
Participants will be selected through invite only. If you are interested in contributing, we encourage you to fill out our interest check and recommend yourself.

What is allowed in this zine?
This zine splits its focus into the “life” and “love” of knights. In the first part, we showcase the daily life of knights: tournaments, battles, training, and running their estates. In the second part, we delve into the platonic, romantic, and familial relationships of knights.This zine recognises that “knight” is a very European term—we welcome equivalents from across the world, such as fāris, mamluk, samurai, hwarang, and rajput. Pieces may feature fantasy or historical interpretations of knights, with original characters, historical figures, and recognised characters in the public domain only (such as the characters from Arthurian legend). We aim to feature a diverse cast of knights and welcome trans, non-binary, POC, and female knights.

Will this zine be physical or digital?
Our aim is to create both a physical and digital zine, though whether we are able to print physically will depend on the results of our interest check. If you'd also like to see a physical copy of this zine, please do fill out our interest check to show your support!

Will this zine be for profit or for charity?
This zine is a for-profit project, pending the results of the Interest Check—all profits will be split equally among contributors & mods upon completion of the project!

How will contributors be compensated?
All contributors will be guaranteed a full digital bundle and the ability to purchase any physical items at production cost.Pending adequate sales during pre-orders, we hope to compensate for shipping or the cost of items entirely—we aim to cover a full bundle for each contributor.Profits not spent on item compensation will be split equally among contributors & mods upon completion of the project. A full breakdown of compensation tiers will be available upon acceptance to the project.

What is this zine’s rating?
This zine is rated T by AO3’s guidelines. This includes moderate levels of violence, non-graphic descriptions of injuries, and romantic descriptions without explicit sexual interaction.

Will romantic content be allowed?
Romantic content is welcome! All stories should be rated teen or below.
